SPONSORSHIPS
for children and families in need
When we walk through the town of Kisoro and the surrounding area, groups of children approach us white people every day asking for money: > Muzungu, give me money!<
These children have lost their homes and often their families. There are many reasons for this;
the main causes are AIDS-related deaths or illness of parents, and the financial, material and social breakdown of families.
These children have lost their homes and often their families. There are many reasons for this;
the main causes are AIDS-related deaths or illness of parents, and the financial, material and social breakdown of families.
With our help, St. Francis Mutolere Hospital has established a Charity Committee to support these children and their families.
Since late 2021, we have been finding sponsors to help these children and their families build a future. Children especially need nutritious food, an education and trusted adults who take a personal interest in their wellbeing.
Take sisters Sarah and Dorcus, aged 6 and 11, for example.
Their father left the family. Their mother's family drove her and the children out. They now live in a dilapidated hut with a leaking roof. When it rains, they stand all night to keep from getting wet and cold. They only have food when their mother can earn money from odd jobs.
Fortunately, we found sponsors for the sisters to help them attend school and get a hot meal every day.
Family sponsorship is another way to support and strengthen not just the children themselves, but their families too.
If you would also like to give a child or their family a new chance in life,
please get in touch with us!!!
