The economic hardship and financial insecurity facing people in Uganda have worsened due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of the war in Ukraine. This is particularly affecting St. Francis Hospital Mutolere.

The hospital takes a holistic approach to meeting people's needs. It supports patients not only with medical care but also, as far as possible, with their social hardships.

For example, it treats everyone who comes for care, even if they cannot afford the cost of treatment.

As a result, the hospital is constantly balancing financial sustainability with the care patients need. This often leaves a significant funding gap. Whenever possible, we try to help bridge that gap.

As the hospital is a key part of our work, we provide targeted support for projects such as renovating the emergency department, training healthcare staff, and purchasing essential equipment and supplies.
